Description

The oil and gas industry has adopted modern data technology as a virtual systems testing tool that allows for costly fault detection at an early stage of the project. Using modern simulation, models of deepwater systems can be configured and used to verify dynamic system functions and properties against various requirements specifications.

ALFAsim is a 1D dynamic multiphase flow simulator which resulted as the natural evolution of the simulation technology developed for its preceding well and pipeline flow simulators. It combines a robust mathematical formulation with an advanced numerical strategy to deliver a computationally efficient simulation experience in an intuitive interface. Simulations are set up and launched in a modern workspace environment and the results are plotted in a versatile and intelligent manner by featuring simple, fast, and user-friendly sequential steps for pre- and post-processing.

Have vital engineering insights related to slug prediction, holdup management, pack-offs and other critical situations when designing pipelines. ALFAsim’s sensitivity analysis framework allows ease creation of multiple runs to explore different scenarios and ultimately arrive at the most feasible configuration for the expected operational conditions.

Understand how your wells behave in shut-ins, start-ups and other transient scenarios, like liquid loading, severe slugging and pigging operations. The ESSS Institute offers a complete solution for distance training in numerical simulation.

Objective

Introduces the user to ALFAsim’s main features and modeling capabilities to simulate flow assurance issues commonly encountered in the Oil & Gas Industry.

Target audience

Industry professionals, students, and academic professors interested in improving their knowledge in simulation techniques.

Methodology

The student has the flexibility to attend the training at the most suitable time of their daily journey during the active access period. The videos, texts and exercises were previously prepared, revised and structured, allowing for the best asynchronous use.

To access the exercises, the student will be provided for 30 days a temporary license or should already have access to ALFAsim software license installed on their computer. After registering for the course an e-mail will be sent to your address with information on how to download and access ALFAsim for educational purposes only for the duration of the course.

Certificate

After the completion of the course, students will receive an international certificate, in electronic format, showing that they completed the course and the number of hours they attended. The certificate is issued by the ESSS Institute. ESSS guarantees the quality of the course through its experience and recognition as a reference in Simulation.
