  • Introduction to Optical systems
  • Imaging systems design, analysis and optimization
  • Non-imaging systems design, analysis and optimization
  • Tolerancing optical systems
  • Optical materials
Objective

By the end of the course, participants will have gained a solid understanding of the fundamental concepts of optical design and will be confident in navigating the Ansys Zemax OpticStudio interface. They will be able to create and analyze basic optical configurations, such as single lenses and doublets, and will know how to use the main analysis tools to evaluate system performance, including the study of aberrations and spot diagrams. In addition, they will learn how to set up and run optimization procedures to refine the performance of their designs, as well as to develop an initial understanding of tolerancing, enabling them to assess the manufacturability and robustness of an optical system.

Target audience

Industry professionals, students, or university professors interested in starting their knowledge of simulation techniques for the creation and improvement of real projects.

Methodology

Students have the flexibility to attend the training at their own pace. The videos, texts, and exercises have been previously prepared, reviewed, and structured, allowing for optimal asynchronous use. Access to the learning platform is individual and non-transferable. Sharing access and downloading video material are prohibited. Students who violate ESSS's copyright rules may be subject to legal sanctions. Once the active course period ends, the content will no longer be available on the portal. We do not extend deadlines

Certificate

After the full completion of the course, the student has access to an international certificate, in electronic format, proving the completion of the course with the total hours attended. The certificate is issued by the ESSS Institute, which is a world reference in the subject of Computer Simulation. ESSS guarantees the quality of the course through its experience and recognition as a reference in Computational Simulation
